The Division of Emergency Services provides clinical care to over 40,000 patients annually in the Schwartz/Reisman Emergency Centre.  Care is provided by 15 full and part-time physicians.  All of the Division’s staff physicians are certified emergency physicians.  The Division collaborates closely with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and provides all of CAMH’s emergency medical assessments and consultations.

The Division is also the home base for the Emergency Medicine Fellowship program of the Dept. of Family and Community Medicine, which is overseen by a division staff physician, Dr. John Foote, the assistant program director of the program.  The education program is led by Dr. Shirley Lee, Asst. Director, Education of the division; she is assisted by the division’s undergraduate coordinator, Dr. Yasmine Mawji and postgraduate coordinator, Dr. Mike Wansbrough.  Dr. Bjug Borgundvaag, Asst. In 2007, the Emergency Centre documented 9,452 ambulance and 43,564 total patient arrivals.
